Alone On The Bridge

As I journey through life, I've come to recognize that there are many bridges to cross as we grow and reach out into the world. Sometimes we approach the crossing with joy; other times, we step hesitantly. However, if we consider the bridge through the lens of a lifelong learner, we will step with confidence to the other side.

The 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners are practices that help make bridge crossings possible. For example, when making my unexpected move to Florida, leaving behind family, friends, work, and the home of my dreams, it was necessary to consider this move as a challenge rather than a problem.

Of the 7 1/2 habits, the most difficult one for me is PLAY! As the oldest of six children, I exhibit typical "first born child" characteristics - serious, responsible, and a perfectionist. I must force myself to relax and have fun!
